How many residents live near the DNR's proposed gravel mining site?

According to the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments 2020 Census map 2,266 people reside in 932 Households & 1,002 Housing Units within 0.5 miles of the two properties being leased.


1 mile away from the DNR's proposed mine the number increases to 4,351 residents.


This means you must inform every neighbor. Have them read StopTheGravelPit.com and encourage them to attend the DNR public meeting on October 12th, 6pm-8pm at Brighton High School.

The DNR is also welcoming public comments regarding the auction. Those wishing to submit a comment should do so by Oct. 27 via email to DNR-Minerals@michigan.gov or vennek@michigan.gov, or by mailing a letter to DNR, Minerals Management Section, P.O. Box 30452, Lansing, MI 48909.


All commenters should include their name, phone number, and email and mailing addresses with their submission.
